What is your educational background?
I have three years of college, majoring in history.

What other experiences, or staff development has prepared you for inclusion?
Working as a substitute in classrooms that had children with special needs. Hands on training.

What is your job role?
To assist the lead teacher in planning, carrying out plans, setting up the classroom and record keeping.

What is your role regarding the inclusive component of the program?
I rotate with team members in working with the children with special needs during a specific period of time. I sit in on team meetings and sit in on IEP meetings.

How do teachers receive extra training?
Workshops, classes.

Do teachers help children with disabilities and typically developing peers become friends?
Yes.

How are parents of children with special needs included to participate and get involved with the school?
Parents are invited to attend team meetings, volunteer in the classroom and school activities.
